Chartered engineer with 30 years experience in oil and gas, mostly in the subsea sector. Most recently MD of Advanced Production and Loading and BW Offshore responsible for setting up the FPSO swivel delivery team. Has been involved in a large number of development projects including the first ultra deep mono-bore riser intervention systems in the Gulf of Mexico (Shell and BP).
Has particular knowledge of high pressure and temperature systems and components having been closely involved with development of high pressure systems for subsea and down hole since the mid 80s.
Set up Flintstone with the objective of creating a truly integrated world class development company specifically targeting the upstream oil and gas sector.

An apprentice and time served Design Engineer with over 30 years working experience as a design draftsman and production planner. Has worked in many different industries including Refrigeration, Valves and Pumps.
An expert in sheet metal design and fabrication, has successfully completed projects where innovative design has led to cost reduction and part optimisation. Has over 10years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry and has worked on major innovative projects for subsea and topside applications including high pressure equipment and structural fabrications, complex down hole tools and many more

Ross Richardson Senior Design Engineer | B.Eng. (hons)
An award winning Design Engineer who has over 14years experience working within the Product Design and Mechanical engineering industry. Was European Head of R&D for a large global brand and has worked in mass production environments within the UK and Far-East. Has been involved at design and senior management level on a large number of diverse engineering projects, from Consumer Plastic Injection Mouldings, Die-Cast and Sheet Metal systems for industrial products, to large CNC machined tools for Offshore and Subsea.
Has particular knowledge and experience of design for production and commercialisation of Subsea systems, proven through a track record of successfully delivering the design and project management of subsea down-hole tooling projects for Clients working in the Gulf of Mexico.
Outside office, interests include old Alfa Romeo’s and being a retained (Part-Time) Fire-Fighter with Tayside Fire and Rescue for the last 8 years. Fully qualified in all aspects of Fire fighting including BA, RTC, Water Awareness and Trauma First Aid.
David Smith Senior Design Engineer | M.Eng. (hons)
With accolades from key industry bodies, a creative Design Engineer with over 13 years experience. Has held senior design positions in a variety of industries spanning consumer product design, microelectronics, renewable energy, centrifugal pumps and oil & gas sectors.
Has experience in manufacturing, quality and R+D environments. An innovative engineer, named as inventor on a number of worldwide patents. Has specialist knowledge in multiphase separating equipment in vacuum systems and was responsible for setting up a research and test facility to develop the technology. Has worked on a variety of complex and often unique engineering projects and has an excellent knowledge of manufacturing technologies.
Since joining Flintstone, has worked on several subsea projects including down-hole and ROV tooling.
Outside interests include an enjoyment of contemporary art, cooking, music and travel.
Richard Taylor Senior Mechanical Engineer | B.Sc (hons)
A career which began loading steel strip into forming rolls in a steel mill. Attended Sheffield Hallam University and gained honours degree in Mechanical engineering. Became design and engineering manager at First Subsea and then Technical Director at BallTec.
A highly experienced, creative, analytical and practical mechanical design engineer who has worked on the design, development and deployment of installation, heavy lift and down hole products in oil and gas for over 20 years with several patents registered and realised. Vast experience in translating ideas into reality.
Outside interest include golf and DeTomasso sports cars
Kevin Munro Senior Mechanical Engineer | B.Eng (hons)
A customer focused mechanical engineer with over 16 years experience in Mechanical Design/Project Engineering.
Has worked within the highly regulated Oil and Gas, Centrifugal Pump and Defence sectors, and at all stages of the product lifecycle, from prototype development through to post design support. An experienced project manager with hands on design skills and analytical expertise in hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis. Skilled in product development and design for manufacturing and assembly. Holds a post graduate management qualification.
Outside office interests include Crossfit, golf, snowboarding and hill walking.
Has been involved in oil and gas projects for many years and responsible for implementation of Investors in People and quality systems in different business sectors.
Responsible within FTL for developing our integrated management system covering quality, health and safety and environmental she brings a level of professionalism to the business consistent with the requirements of the world class organisations we work with.
Interests away from work are outdoor activities and the protection of the environment
Completed his training as a sea going engineer with Shell Tankers and for more than 20 years has been a technician in a variety of industries including Oil and Gas.
Responsible at FTL for the safe and efficient operation of our test and assembly facilities, the practical hands on experience gained over many years in the field provides our clients with confidence in our validation and verification process.
Outside work interests are model railways and bowling.
